This summer, discover Histoire d'un Cid, a variation on Pierre Corneille's play, directed by Jean Bellorini

In the majestic setting of the Château de Grignan, Jean Bellorini brings Corneille back to life for our eyes and ears with a magical adaptation of Le Cid.

Perched on an inflatable castle, an artificial citadel, the actors take turns playing modern-day characters and the heroes of the original plot. Navigating between past and present, imagination and reality, Histoire d'un Cid offers a lively re-reading of Corneille's tragi-comedy: the impossible love between Rodrigue and Chimène, the secret of the Infanta and the despair of an ageing father.

A joyful, musical score, faithful to the 17th-century language and Corneille's now-cult verses.
